Choosing the right backpack is an important part of any trip. The pack needs to hold all the essentials, durable enough and fits well. For my fastpacking trips, I use this comfortably light and versatile Salomon XA 25 backpack with a 2L Platypus or a 3L camelbak hydration bladder (depends on the trip and season) and Salomon Custom Front Pocket with two 24 fl. oz. Polar Insulated Water Bottle.
The backpack had a 25L capacity with one large open mesh pocket on the middle back, two mesh side pockets and two side pockets on either waist-belt which provide quick access to gear. The main compartment is waterproof with roll-top construction. On the backpanel of the pack, a zippered pocket gives you fast access to a large hydration sleeve. Shoulder straps are lightly padded and have adjustable load lifter straps. The pack features Custom System Attachment Points which allow quick customization of the backpack to fit specific needs depending on the trip.
The Custom Front Pocket adds two water bottle holders and additional 5L volume to the backpack for easy access to essentials on the go. The back has a foam padding that provides ventilation and padding to your chest. The water bottle holders have adjustable security cords and has a small mesh pocket. The zippered main compartment has two mesh organizing sleeves.
Damn, sounds like I was sponsored by them or something.
